so what is it?
About holistic health coaching
I may be a medical doctor and certified health coach, but my greatest qualification has been what I have lived through and overcome as a patient.
So what is holistic health coaching
Holistic Health Coaching 1:1 is a personalised process that helps you explore and transform your health and life in a way that goes beyond just the absence of illness. The focus is on thriving across all four pillars of health—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual—while recognising the unique challenges each person faces.
Unlike the medical model, where the doctor is the expert, coaching empowers you to be the expert of your own journey. The coach acts as a facilitator, helping you:
Reconnect with your intuition and inner knowing
Clarify your vision for the future
Turn insight into actionable steps
Identify and work through obstacles, including mindset and beliefs that may be holding you back
Sessions are client-led, future-focused, and solution-oriented, but they also make space to reflect on your past when it helps you move forward. Coaching is not therapy—it doesn’t involve rehashing trauma, but rather supports you in discovering your own way forward with curiosity, compassion, and no judgment.
Ultimately, 1:1 holistic health coaching provides guidance, accountability, and support in navigating both health and life, helping you take consistent steps toward healing, growth, and a greater sense of alignment.
Health coaching is empowering
There are four main aspects of health coaching that attracted me to the profession.
One of the main aspects of coaching that resonated with me is how empowering it is for the client. The primary ethos is that the client is the expert in their own journey, and the coach is simply a facilitator in their exploration and learning about themselves and their unique path forward. This is in complete contrast to the medical system, where the doctor is the expert, and patients are accustomed to, and often expect, being told what they should do. Coaching is a very particular skill set that, for me, required a lot of unlearning from my experience as a doctor. I believe that we all have access to an inner knowing, or intuition, that guides us toward what we truly need. Yet for a myriad of reasons, many of us lose touch with this part of ourselves. This style of coaching is a method of helping you re-access that inner guidance. The goal is that, going forward beyond your coaching experience, you will have the confidence and clarity to navigate not just your healing, but your life in general, by trusting your own intuition.
The 4 pillars of holistic health
1
Physical
How we nourish, hydrate, move and care for our physical bodies in the practical sense
2
Mental
Our mindset and how we cognitively navigate our challenges and move forward
3
Emotional
How we feel not only in our current life, but all the past emotional experiences we have stored in our mind-body-spirit system
4
Spiritual
Our faith, greater sense of purpose, and a connection to our intuition or higher inner knowing.
Health Coaching is future focussed
The second thing that attracted me to the profession is that it is future-focused. Every aspect of the coaching experience is oriented toward a future goal, dream, or idea you have for your life. You are the director in creating or discovering this vision, and the coach’s role is to help you gain clarity on it and fine-tune it.
Although the method is future-focused, I believe it is unavoidable that aspects of your history will surface or be remembered. However, the primary purpose of looking back on life events is to understand how they influence your current experience and provide important clues about how to move forward.
I know many people feel strongly that they no longer want to revisit traumatic experiences from their past, so I must re-iterate here that coaching is NOT therapy. Instead, the client leads the session to wherever they feel they need to go. There is no direction that is right or wrong, and your history is approached with open curiosity and an absence of judgment.
Health coaching creates actionable steps
A third important part of coaching is the creation of actionable steps. It is one thing to gain an understanding of our issues and a vision of what we would like our health and life to look like, but figuring out how to take action is often the most difficult part of the process. What I have witnessed in recent years, with the explosion of the health and wellness industry, is an over-saturation of information. It is not a lack of information that limits people’s ability to find healing, but rather their difficulty with implementing a course of action and maintaining it. The factors that create these obstructions are uniquely our own, and coaching provides a way to explore and understand them, and then create a clear pathway forward.
Health coaching changes mindset
The final important focus of holistic health coaching is mindset. If there are belief structures that are obstructing your progress, this style of coaching provides strategies for uncovering them. I believe that a positive mindset and the belief that healing is possible are crucial parts of the process. I also believe there is much to be grateful for even in suffering, and it has been my experience that the paradox of both can exist simultaneously if a sense of faith and higher perspective is cultivated. Coaching can support this process across the mental, emotional, and spiritual fields.
Why work with me
I am not your typical health coach. My experiences—both as a doctor and as a patient—have shaped the way I work, allowing me to bring a unique blend of professional knowledge, personal insight, and intuition to every session. Over the years, I have developed a truly holistic approach that considers not just the physical, but also the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of your health and life. I have learned how transformative it can be to truly understand yourself, and I bring that perspective into guiding clients to do the same. Beyond standard coaching techniques, I use my intuition to sense where you may need support, even when you don’t yet see it yourself. Sometimes the guidance you need is practical—figuring out the next step, how big that step should be, or in which direction it should go. Other times, it’s deeper—helping you reconnect with your inner wisdom, gain clarity, and move forward with confidence and alignment. My role is to support you in navigating your journey with intention, curiosity, and empowerment, so that each step you take brings you closer to the life and health you truly want.
Free discovery calls
It would be a great honour to walk with you as you navigate the complexities, nuances and challenges of healing. Ive navigated those waters myself for 16 years and deeply understand what it means to both suffer and transform. I believe through our physical and mental health difficulties we are all being guided toward healing, it is just a matter of uncovering our own unique path there.
